Resonate Magazine; Art Direction, Editorial Design, Typesetting; 2021

A conceptual piece created during my time at Shillington. This brief was worded to us as a fictional new magazine under NME’s editorial brand that was meant to serve as a more artistic and finely edited counterpart to their main music publication. Its subheading would be titled “The Aesthetics of Music,” and it will have a limited release of only a few issues per year.
Its concept takes inspiration from art and coffee table books, zine culture, and more sophisticated publications that prioritize polished design and typesetting as much as they do the quality of their content.
We were tasked with designing the cover, main branding, and logo for the magazine, as well as an editorial spread for an article on punk music. It’s targeted to an audience of all ages with a deep appreciation for exactly what the magazine offers.
